Scenario 74: Sturmgruppe Granit
Special Rules
-
IMPENETRABLE BUNKERS: Place five Wire in hexes E6, F5, G5, H4 and I4. Place three Bunkers in hexes C6, J2 and M6. These three hexes are impassable to Axis units (only) as long as the Bunkers remain in play.
-
GLIDER LANDINGS: Axis forces must set up in the following hexes: one Parachute and the Italian Satchel Charge—L7; one Parachute and one Satchel Charge—D4; one Parachute and one Satchel Charge—E8; Cpl. Rettenhaus, one Parachute and one Satchel Charge—E3; Sgt. Ganz, one Parachute, the Weapon team and the Light MG—I7.
-
UNDERGROUND GALLERIES: When activated for an Advance order, Allied units may advance directly from one bunker hex to any other bunker hex.
-
BUNKER BREACHING: Any Fire Attack roll of 10+ made by a German Satchel Charge against a bunker will "breach" that bunker. The Italian Satchel Charge represents a specialized 50kg shaped charge and will breach Cupola 120 (see below) if its Fire Attack roll is 9+. After the first Satchel Charge Fire Attack against these targets, place a supression [sic] maker on it. Subsequent Satchel Charge attacks on that hex reduce the breaching number by 1. If a breach occurs, eliminate the bunker immediately prior to any Fire Defense rolls. Used Satchel Charges are placed on the next space of the Time Track instead of the eliminated weapons track. When a Satchel Charge returns to play give it to an Axis unit without a weapon, if possible; if not, eliminate it.
-
CUPOLA 120: Hex J9 is impassable to all units. It has an inherent LOS hindrance of 1. The Axis player can attack the hex (as if it were a unit inside a bunker) with the Italian Satchel Charge. If a breach occurs, flip the control marker to its German side and permanently eliminate the Italian Satchel Charge.
-
CUPOLA SUD: The Allied radio represents Cupola Sud, a 75mm gun in a retractable turret supplied with canister ammunition. Cupola Sud is self-spotting, with LOS being traced from hex B10. The radio only has a 1-hex blast area (the hex occupied by the SR) rather than the normal 7. However, if the Radio's Targeting Roll is a "hit" you do not check for drift (the SR lands directly on target). If the Targeting Roll is a "miss" the SR will only drift as if it were a normal "hit" (that is, it will drift one hex in the direction of the white die then one hex in the direction of the colored die).
