Letter from Melmbury Constabulary
Dear Detective,
Thank you for responding to our enquiries. You will find enclosed all retained papers pertaining to case 00162639, the killing of Harold (Harry) Green by a person or persons unknown at his home in Selby Close, Melmbury, on Saturday, July 9th 1983. We are hoping that you and your team, through re-examination of the evidence, may find some new reason to re-open the case.
On the next page, you will find a full list of everything enclosed. The key questions we were never able to answer are:
- Who killed Harold Green?
- Who stole his watch?
- Who stole the church donation box?
If you believe you can answer these questions, we may have reason to re-open the case and begin investigating again, despite the time elapsed. If you have a sufficient lead, please pass the details over to the Royal Prosecution Service at ThinkFun.com/ColdCase. From there, we will review if the evidence is sufficient for re-examination.
Melmbury has never forgotten Harold Green. Please help us find cause to re-open the case. Good luck!
B. Bowden, Melmbury Police Archives
