Object

Be the first player to correctly guess whodunit, with which weapon, and in which location in the room!

Get Ready

  1. Separate the weapons, suspect, and location cards into three decks and shuffle each deck. Then place the decks face down. The cards are the evidence to the crime.

Weapons, Suspects, and Locations (card examples shown on the insert).

  2. Without looking at the cards, take one card from each of the three decks and place them into the evidence folder. These cards reveal the solution to the mystery.

  3. Shuffle the 16 remaining cards together and deal out eight cards to each player.

  4. If it's the first time you're playing, punch out the six character tokens and place each one randomly on the gameboard on a space labeled SUSPECT. Place each weapon on a space labeled WEAPON. Note that there are also room locations labeled on the board. All of these spaces are called evidence spaces.

  5. Each player chooses a pawn and places it on the START space.

Let's Play

The younger player goes first.

  1. On your turn, roll the die and move your pawn off of START up to the number of spaces shown on the die. If you land on an evidence space, you must make a suggestion. The suggestion is not a full accusation – but it helps you narrow down the possibilities!
    • Your suggestion must specify two of the three categories of evidence: suspect, weapon, or room location. It must include the evidence on the space you landed on. For example, if you landed on the Col. Mustard space, you could say "Colonel Mustard with the candlestick" or "Colonel Mustard by the coffee table."
    • If your opponent has evidence relating to your suggestion, they must show one piece of that evidence and place it face up on the table. That card must stay on the table for the rest of the game.
    • If your opponent does not have any evidence, they are not required to place anything on the table.
  2. When you think you know who committed the murder, with which weapon, and where, move to the body outline space and make your accusation. The player will then look at the three cards that were placed aside in the beginning of the game. If you are correct, you win!
  3. If you are incorrect, your opponent gets a chance to guess before looking. If both players are incorrect both lose.
  4. Tip: Try to confuse your opponent by asking them about evidence that you hold in your hand!

You cannot move diagonally, go through the same square twice on a turn, or land on or move through a square occupied by another token.

Victory!

The first player to correctly guess the suspect, the weapon, and the room location is the winner.
