Can a parking space or garden sit between two buildings without joining them?
The rulebook says non-module components may be built beside two buildings; the designer allowed diagonal contact between buildings.

Yes — parking spaces and gardens are not modules, so they may sit in a space adjacent to two buildings without merging them. Two buildings touching only at a corner are also fine.
