Can I join two buildings together later?
The rulebook forbids connecting separate buildings; the no-hub case is a community reading of the original rules.

No. Once you have two separate buildings you cannot build a module that would connect them, since that could put two service hubs on one floor. Gardens and parking are not modules, so they may sit between buildings. Players add that a group of modules with no service hub is not yet a building and can still be joined freely.
