How is income calculated, and do gardens help every room?

Each treated patient pays by the patient's colour: red $32, orange $20, yellow $12, white $8 (Outpatient Services pays a flat $6). Each treated patient in a treatment room earns $2 more per adjacent garden. Operating rooms have a built-in nurse but get no garden bonus, and neither does Outpatient Services.
