How many sheep can dogs keep on a meadow or pasture, and does a stable or fence add to that?
The designer said the dog rule replaces the normal pasture rules, and the rulebook states the dogs-plus-one formula.

With dogs watching, a meadow or pasture holds one more sheep than the number of dogs on it, so 1 dog watches 2 sheep, 2 dogs watch 3. This rule replaces the normal capacity: fences and stables add nothing and the stable cannot be used on that space. It only works on meadows and pastures, not forest or fields, and not on a space that also holds another animal type.
