The game box contains: the game board, the demolition ball (wrecking ball), 3 special pieces, 26 castle pieces, 12 tokens and 1 die.

Demolisher Rules

Objective

Destroy more castle pieces than your fellow players.

Setup

Build the castle on the board as you wish; an example castle is shown in the picture on the leaflet.

Place the demolition ball near the game board.

The other components (the tokens and the die) are put back in the box; they are not used in this version.

Playing the Game

The first player is the oldest player. Each player takes turns in clockwise order.

On your turn, follow these steps:

  • Take the demolition ball.
  • Place it around the board (you may rotate the board if needed).
  • When you are ready, lift the ball so that the string stays taut and is not raised above the horizontal. Then release the ball without pushing it.
  • If pieces of the castle come off the board, take them back.
  • Pass the ball to the player on your left.

The pieces that leave the game board are collected by the player who knocked them out. Once the board is empty, each player counts the number of pieces they have collected; the player with the most wins.

End of the Game

Once there is no piece left on the game board, each player counts the number of pieces they have collected; this gives victory points. The Princess, the Treasure and the Dragon are each worth two points more than the other pieces.

The player with the most victory points has won the game.

Brave Knight Rules (Preux Chevalier)

Objective

The royal treasure has been stolen! The princess has been kidnapped! And a dragon guards them both under its watchful eye! To win, be the first to collect a Princess token, a Treasure token and a Dragon token by ejecting the matching elements from the board.

Setup

Build the castle on the board and add the Princess, the Treasure and the Dragon as shown in the picture. Sort the tokens by type (Princess, Treasure and Dragon) and place them on the table near the players.

Leave the demolition ball, the tokens and the die near the game board.

Playing the Game

The first player is the oldest player. Each player takes turns in clockwise order. On your turn, follow these steps:

  • Take the die and roll it. The number shown is the number of times you will throw the demolition ball.
  • Take the demolition ball.
  • Place it around the board (you may rotate the board if needed).
  • When you are ready, lift the ball so that the string stays taut and is not raised above the horizontal. Then release the ball without pushing it.
  • Repeat the previous step as many times as the number shown on the die.

Each throw counts even if the ball touches nothing.

Additional rules:

  • If the Princess, the Treasure or the Dragon ends up outside the game board, you win all the matching tokens.
  • Pass the demolition ball to the player on your left.
  • Note: if you knock the Princess, the Treasure or the Dragon off the board when you already have that token, return the token you own instead of drawing a second one. This token goes back with the others.
  • If the Princess, the Treasure or the Dragon has left the board, the castle must be rebuilt at the end of your turn. Otherwise, the next player does not rebuild the castle and leaves the elements in the position you left them. Elements that have left the board may be pushed to make room for the demolition ball or to allow the game board to be turned.
  • If a player has all three tokens at the end of their turn, they win the game.

Ending the Game

The game ends when a player has all three tokens (Princess, Treasure and Dragon) at the end of their turn; that player wins.

Variants

The Sniper

Try to knock out only one element on each turn. A player's turn lasts until they manage to knock out one and only one element of the castle. The player may only collect the elements that were knocked out alone (in the other case the elements are set aside from the game).

Once the board is empty, each player counts the number of elements they have collected; the player with the most wins. The Princess, the Treasure and the Dragon are each worth two points more than the other pieces.

The Solitaire

If you are alone, you can improve your skill at the game. Try to achieve the following challenges:

  • Following the Brave Knight rules, try to knock out the Princess, the Treasure and the Dragon with as few throws as possible.
  • Following the Brave Knight rules, try to clear the game board with as few throws as possible.
  • Following the Brave Knight rules, try to make as many throws as possible while trying to knock out only one element of the board at a time. The game stops as soon as two or more elements have left the board. The ultimate challenge is to clear the game board by having knocked out all the elements one at a time.
