Components
- 1 wooden figure "Freitag" (Friday)
- 6 landscape cards with symbols and a different back
Set-up
All rules of Carcassonne: South Seas remain in force.
The expansion cards are shuffled and placed face down, apart from the normal landscape cards. The landscape cards of Carcassonne: South Seas are divided into 10 stacks of 7 cards each. The stacks are laid out in a row. The remaining 2 cards form the last (11th) stack.
Game Flow
The player whose turn it is must always draw his landscape card from the front-most stack, so that the stacks are used up one after another. When a stack has been used up, a week is over.
Now Friday appears and discovers his island. In doing so he grants all players special bonuses.
The player whose turn it is, after a stack has been used up, first reveals an expansion card before carrying out his normal turn. He places Friday on this revealed card. The players thereby lay out the expansion cards as a small "Friday's Island". The players should build this island roughly as shown in the printed illustration.
After the player has discovered an island piece, he draws a normal landscape card from the front-most stack and makes his normal turn.
This repeats after every stack of 7, until Friday has discovered his entire island.
Note: It does not matter how Friday's Island is laid out. During play all 6 cards are always laid out, whether or not they fit at that moment. In the end a complete island always results.
Once Friday has discovered all 6 island pieces, the player who would have to discover one places Friday on another island piece of his choice instead. The island piece Friday stands on indicates which bonus the players may use.
Discovery Callout (Last Card of Stack 4)
The last card of stack 4 has been placed. The next player lays one of the expansion cards alongside and places Friday on it. In the following week (the 7 cards of stack 5), each player receives 1 extra shell whenever he receives shells.
Bonuses of Friday's Island
+1 Shell | +1 Banana | +1 Fish
Each time a player receives one or more of these goods when scoring, he receives one more of these goods.
Deliver 1 Good Fewer
When supplying a ship, each player must deliver one good fewer than the ship normally requires. The player may choose this good freely.
Trade
Each player may now, before placing the card in his turn, trade with the other players. He can ask his fellow players whether they want to exchange goods with him. Trading is voluntary; the players may freely decide whether to take part in the trade. Only goods may be exchanged. The player whose turn it is may trade with several players. Trading may only be done with the active player. Trading between other players is not allowed.
Place Islander AND Take Back Islander
In their turn, the players may first place an islander on the card just laid, and then also take an islander back from the board again. This must be carried out in this order.
