Magnetic game board consisting of 4 frame- and 2 inner parts, 60 hint cards, 18 treasure chest tokens, 4 game pawns with base, 1 treasure chest with magnetic ball, 60 gemstones, 1 pirate ship, 1 catapult, instruction

Preparing the game

Stick the four outer frame parts of the island together to build the game board. The nine square parts of the island should be placed inside the frame according to the picture. You can stick the parts together in any order you like, this way you can create a new game board with different routes.

Each player gets a game pawn, sticks it into the base and places it onto one of the four starting fields on the beach (meaning the wooden planks with the shark). The treasure chest will be placed closed aside the game board.

Shuffle the hint cards well and place 13 hint cards face down aside the game board. Alongside you put the treasure chest tokens. Put the remaining hint cards back in the box. 13 hint cards will last for 13 rounds. Obviously you can take out more or less cards in order to play over a longer or shorter period. If you can't count till 13 yet, you find 13 round fields printed on the back of this instruction. Put a round hint card on each field and you have the correct amount.

Place the gemstones inside the lid of the box and sort them according to colours. Each player chooses one colour which he collects during the game. The youngest player starts to choose a colour, then the others choose in turns.

Build up the pirate ship by pressing the ship floor down until it is straight. Place the catapult aside. You don't need the ship and the catapult until later on in the second part of the game, so you can put them aside for now.

Playing the game

Reveal a hint card and search for an item

At the beginning of each round one player turns a hint card face up and places it on the table, so that everyone can see the item on the card at the same time. The one to reveal a card changes each round in turns.

Now you start searching! Who is the first one to find the pictured item on the treasure map? The player that thinks that he has found the item, puts his finger on the spot and shouts loud: "Treasure in sight!"

You pointed at a wrong item on the island?

If the item you pointed at does not match the one on the card, you have to sit out this round and are not allowed to move your pawn. In case all players have pointed at a wrong item, you put this hint card aside and start looking for a new item.

You pointed at the correct item on the island!

As soon as one player has found the correct item you are allowed to move your pawn on the game board.

The one that pointed at the correct item starts to move his pawn up to 6 moves ahead on the brown game fields (the starting fields do not count). He doesn't have to move his pawn 6 fields ahead, he can choose to move less than 6 fields. Clockwise all the others move their pawn, but are only allowed to move 1 field ahead. You can move your pawn in any direction you like.

Rule for all players:

As soon as one player gets onto a field that shows the way to a treasure, he is allowed to dig out this treasure with the magic treasure chest. For this he places the closed treasure chest right onto the cross of the treasure hiding place.

Then he opens the treasure chest in order to see what is inside.

  • Tough luck, this hiding place was empty.
  • You can take one gemstone of your colour.
  • You can take two gemstones of your colour.

Each player is only allowed to take gemstones of his colour. If you collected all gemstones of your colour, you can't carry any more.

Then he places the treasure chest back aside the game board. The hint card can be put in the box.

If you found gemstones in the hiding place you place a treasure chest token on the spot, so that all the other players know that this treasure has already been found.

Hint: Try to keep in mind where the skulls are. This way you can avoid to dip there again by mistake.

Now you go on revealing a hint card again and continue as above.

You can only place one pawn on each field. You count the occupied field as well when you jump over it.

As soon as all hint cards are revealed, Capt'n Sharky and his friends have to leave the island. But first they have to bring all treasures on board. Since the dinghy is broken, you have to find another solution to transport the treasures. But Capt'n Sharky has a clever idea. Quickly the crew builds a catapult in order to transport the valuable treasures onto their ship.

Take your pawn off the game board and place the catapult onto the square field in the middle of the treasure island. The pirate ship lies at anchor ashore of the island in a position that it always touches a side of the game board.

For each game you can choose a different position for the ship. Now you all sit with all your treasures on the opposite side of the game board, so that you can shoot the gemstones with the catapult onto the ship.

The player with the most gemstones begins. Each player is allowed to have one try first.

Place one gemstones inside the husk of the catapult. Hold the catapult with one hand and press down the husk of the catapult with the forefinger of the other hand. Aim at the sail of the pirate ship and let go of the husk.

Hint: The further back you place the gemstones on the husk and the more you push down the husk, the further you can shoot the gemstone.

Each player gets one shot for each collected gemstone. If you miss the ship, you are not allowed to shoot this gemstone again. This way it goes in turns.

End of the game

As soon as all players have shot their gemstones, you have a look how many gemstones are on board. In order to count them, take the gemstones off the ship and place them assorted to colours in rows. The one who has shot the most gemstones of his colour onto the ship is the winner.
