Campaign Overview
Welcome to the Vectrum Campaign!
The Vectrum campaign contains 3 missions. You can play these missions either sequentially as a campaign or individually, observing each mission's specific special rules.
Each envelope contains the sea chart of your area of operations. With all 3 sea charts, you can play through the complete VECTRUM SPECIAL MISSION campaign.
Victory Condition
Win 2 Missions.
Chicago
The test run begins in Chicago, where the participating crews engage each other with reduced attack power. In this first test phase, torpedoes are deactivated. You may only use mines.
The winner of this mission starts the second test phase in New York with damaged weapon systems. Mark all weapon symbols in the engine room as defective except for 1. Choose yourself which weapon symbol is not marked.
New York
The location of the second test phase is New York, whose waters serve as the training ground. The boats launch off the coast of Manhattan. They are equipped with the new A.G.A.T.H.A. system, a powerful artificial intelligence for analyzing trajectories, reaction times, and optimizing equipment adjustments.
Each time you cause damage, you may mark 1 slot on the rotary switch of 1 of the following systems: DRONE, TORPEDO, or SILENCE.
The loser of the second test phase begins the final test phase, FOXTROT, with fully charged sonar and drones. This means that all slots on the rotary switches of the corresponding systems are marked, and those systems are immediately ready for use and can be activated.
Foxtrot
The final test phase takes place in a secret underwater area known as Foxtrot. This final phase tests the crew's ability to react under pressure. When a boat is damaged by a weapon system, there are defects in the engine room:
Specifically, if your boat takes a direct or indirect hit, you must mark all symbols of the 3 categories RED, GREEN, and YELLOW in the bottom row of the areas as defective. Do not mark the reactor symbols. This can, of course, lead to chain reactions and further damage from area defects.
Sheet Notes
- The sheet shows a sea chart thumbnail for each mission (Chicago, New York, Foxtrot). These are the charts in the three envelopes and are not separate rules.
- The New York system named "DRONE, TORPEDO, or SILENCE" is printed in German as "DROHNE, TORPEDO oder SCHLEICHFAHRT". "Schleichfahrt" is the German name of the Silence system, so the English term is used here. The English fan translation prints "SLOW" for the same system.
- The German sheet spells the final mission "FOXTROTT". The English sheet and this file use "FOXTROT".
- The sheet's "Confidential" stamp, the "Special Mission Vectrum" stamp, and the designer and illustrator credits are not rules and are not transcribed.
