Goal
Collect ingredient cards for your burger creation and fulfil the requirements of your scoring cards to earn victory points.
At the end of the game, the player with the most victory points has their burger added to the menu and wins the game.
Setup
Follow these steps to prepare the game:
- Each cooking talent takes 1 board and lays it face up in front of them.
- Place the Top Bun in the centre of the table.
- Shuffle all game cards together into a single stack and place it in the centre of the table. Important: the ingredient sides and scoring sides must be distributed at random!
- Only in a game with 2 or 3 cooking talents: remove approximately half of the draw stack and return these cards to the box without looking at them. Yes, only approximately half. The kitchen is running at full speed, there is no time for counting.
- Each cooking talent draws 6 cards and takes them into their hand. Important: do not look at the backs of the cards!
- Choose one cooking talent and call them the Flipper from now on. Whenever cards are drawn, this person always draws first. Play then continues clockwise. The Flipper also calls the Flip during the game; more on this under Game Flow.
You are now ready for your burger creations!
Before the first game: take about half of the cards and turn them over to their back side. Now shuffle all the cards together. Then turn about half of the cards over to their other side and shuffle again. Repeat this several times so that the ingredient and scoring sides are distributed at random.
Game Flow
In BurgerDraft all cooking talents carry out their turns simultaneously.
A turn consists of the following steps:
- Choose 1 card from your own hand and place it.
- Flip: the Flipper calls out loudly "Flip!". Everyone turns their hand cards over to their back side.
- Choose 1 card from your own hand and place it.
- Pass the remaining 4 cards to the cooking talent on your left.
- Draw 2 cards from the draw stack. Important: do not look at the backs of the cards!
Placing an ingredient card: If you choose an ingredient card, place it on the marking on your board. Lay the ingredient cards on top of each other so that the cards underneath are no longer visible. Try to remember what you have already placed on your burger. Lifting up the ingredients is not allowed. Some cards already show printed victory points.
Placing a scoring card: If you choose a scoring card, place it face up on your board. Each board offers 6 markings along its outer edge. Choose your scoring cards with care: you may not later swap them for other scoring cards. Note: every scoring card is present in the game twice, but each cooking talent may place the same scoring card only once.
End of the Game and Scoring
BurgerDraft ends immediately as soon as one of the 2 conditions occurs:
- The draw stack no longer holds enough cards for every cooking talent to draw 2 cards.
- A cooking talent places the 6th scoring card and immediately calls out loudly "Mahlzeit!" (Meal time!). This cooking talent may now place the Top Bun on their burger creation. Important: all cooking talents still complete their current action.
Afterwards the scoring follows:
Take all ingredient cards from your board and sort them so that you lay out cards with the same characteristics grouped in front of you. Evaluate your scoring cards one at a time and record the victory points earned on the score track. The score track offers 1 space per scoring card, plus 1 space for the victory points printed on ingredient cards.
The cooking talent with the most victory points wins the game. That cooking talent's burger creation is added to the new menu. In case of a tie, the cooking talents share the victory.

Scoring Cards
Scoring cards award victory points for characteristics on your collected cards and differ in 2 ways:
Multiple scoring The arrow shows that the victory points are received each time the condition is fully met.
Example: 4 victory points for every 2 cards with the green characteristic.
Single scoring If the upper condition is met, you receive the victory points shown once.
Example 1: 12 victory points if you have collected at least 4 cards with the red characteristic.
Example 2: 14 victory points if you have collected at least 7 different category characteristics.
Special feature: card-specific characteristics Some scoring cards award victory points only if a single card has several characteristics. These characteristics are enclosed in a dashed frame. This can affect both types of scoring.
Example 1: 6 victory points for each card that has both the hot and yellow characteristics.
Example 2: 16 victory points if you have collected one card each with the characteristics hot and red, hot and yellow, and hot and green.
Important: you may use every ingredient card for every scoring card!
