How to Play

  1. Between friends, decide who will roll the die first. (For example, the host of the evening could have the honour of starting.) That person becomes the moderator of the round and rolls the coloured die. The moderator then takes a card from the deck matching the colour the die shows, chooses one of the three questions on the card and reads it aloud.

The die colours and their categories are:

    • Brise-glace (green): Icebreaker
    • Ce cher ego (orange): Dear Ego
    • À cœur ouvert (dark blue): Open Heart
    • Droit au but (black): Straight to the Point
    • Choix de la modératrice (red): Moderator's Choice
  2. Every player must answer the question in turn, one after the other, including the moderator of the round. Once everyone has answered, the moderator of the round gives a gemstone to the friend whose answer they appreciated most, for whatever reason. Then the next round begins with the player to the left of the current moderator. That player becomes the new moderator, rolls the coloured die, and so on.

  3. The game ends when the players agree to stop, or when all the gemstones have been handed out.

The player who has collected the most gemstones is declared the "winner".

Question Categories

  • Brise-glace (Icebreaker): Warming up. Easy questions, sometimes harmless-looking on the surface, but all relevant to our lives as women.
  • Ce cher ego (Dear Ego): An opportunity to go a bit deeper, to reveal yourself and discover your friends under a new light.
  • À cœur ouvert (Open Heart): Questions that resemble you, with answers that are going to surprise. You are sure to reveal, and discover, unsuspected and fascinating secrets.
  • Droit au but (Straight to the Point): More intimate subjects, but how fascinating for us women! Incisive, but never vulgar, these questions will get more than one of you talking.
  • Choix de la modératrice (Moderator's Choice): It is up to the moderator of the round to choose the category.

Tips

  • The moderator can (and should!) encourage friends to develop their answers when they are too short or not revealing enough.
  • A player may skip their turn, but then loses their chance to win a gemstone.
  • There are many variants of these rules. They can be found on the game's website at www.brindejasette.com.
  • You can now also play online, at the same address.
