Components
- 1 Skilled Worker card: Marketing Specialist
- 3 beer recipe cards: Everyone's Pale Ale, Starling's Irish Dry, Point Placid Oak Aged Porter
Skilled Worker
Marketing Specialist
Card text:
At game end, score 1 Rep. for each Gold Label you collected.
The card carries a dollar sign ($) in the upper right corner, so it counts toward your total operating cost at the end of each Winter, like any other Skilled Worker (see the base rulebook). At game end, the Marketing Specialist scores 1 Rep for each Gold Label you collected, in addition to the base game's Gold Label scoring of 3 Rep per Label.
Recipes
Each of the three recipes below is a beer recipe card. As with base recipes, each card shows:
- Style (Ale, Porter, or Stout).
- Rep each brewed batch is worth at the end of the game (the value in the upper right starburst).
- Basic Ingredients required (Malt, Hops, Yeast).
- Eligibility symbol in the upper left or upper right of the card: a hop cone on Everyone's Pale Ale, and a barrel on Point Placid Oak Aged Porter and Starling's Irish Dry. The base rulebook refers to these as the Oak Barrelhouse or Hops Infuser eligibility symbol without naming each symbol, so the mapping of hop cone to Hops Infuser and barrel to Oak Barrelhouse is taken from the base rulebook's own description and should be checked against the base components.
Everyone's Pale Ale

- Eligibility symbol: barrel (Oak Barrelhouse)
Point Placid Oak Aged Porter

The recipe cards carry no rule text of their own.
Using These Recipes in Place of the Basic Recipes
Source: BGG item description for Marketing Basics (not printed on the cards).
The three recipes in the Marketing Basics expansion can be substituted for the three basic recipes in the main game: Everyone's Pale Ale in place of Everyday Ale, Point Placid Oak Aged Porter in place of Pleasantly Porter, and Starling's Irish Dry in place of Simply Stout. Use the normal beer batch tokens from the basic recipes in the main game. When scoring, remember to count any batches of Starling's Irish Dry and Everyone's Pale Ale as 3 Rep each.
Note: the substitution pairing above is inferred from the style of each card (Ale, Porter, Stout), since the description names the recipes as replacing "the three basic recipes" without listing pairs.
