Setup and General Rules

The four new buildings are independent of each other, so you may use two of them or all four. All of the new buildings are included as additional buildings.

During setup, form the central cross as described in the Blue Moon City rules. Shuffle the remaining buildings together with the new ones and place them at random as the base rules describe, with one difference: when you use any part of this expansion, two randomly chosen corners of the board (out of the four) are also occupied by building tiles. If all four new buildings are in play, every corner of the board is occupied by a building tile.

The flow of the game does not change.

The new buildings work the same way as the old ones. Each of them, however, has a special ability that gives players new options at the end of their turn if they end their turn on that building. The special ability is marked by a symbol in the light field in the middle of the building tile. Special abilities can always be used, whether or not the building has been completed.

  • A player who ends their turn on the Hospital or Theatre tile takes two additional cards.
  • A player who ends their turn on the Assembly tile may immediately move their player figure to any other building tile, but may not perform any further actions.
  • A player who ends their turn on the Golden Shrine tile may immediately offer crystal tokens to the obelisk to place a player marker on the obelisk. To do this, they must give an additional crystal token of value 1. (Pillar people cards may not be played to make any further offerings.)

Golden Shrine

Unlike the three temples, each of which was dedicated to one of the dragons, the Golden Shrine was dedicated to all of the dragons. It was a stronghold of inner harmony, where fire, water and earth were in full accord. For this reason the Golden Shrine was jointly reconstructed by representatives of the three peoples: Vulka, Aqua and Terra ...

(The source text ends at this point.)

Special ability: A player who ends their turn on the Golden Shrine tile may immediately offer crystal tokens to the obelisk to place a player marker on the obelisk. To do this, they must give an additional crystal token of value 1. Pillar people cards may not be played to make any further offerings on this tile.

Printed on the tile: the building's cost boxes show blue 4, red 3 and black 3. The central field shows the obelisk, a crystal token and a "+" sign, which marks the extra value-1 token required by the special ability.

Theatre

The Hind people have no great architects. They have neither the interest nor the need for construction. But sometimes even they are overcome by the urge to make something, so they took the rubbish lying around and turned it into a theatre. It is meant for the entertainment of the Hind, as well as other spectators.

Special ability: A player who ends their turn on the Theatre tile takes two additional cards.

Printed on the tile: the building's cost boxes show green 2, 1 and 1. The printed tile shows two card icons in the central special-ability field, which corresponds to the two additional cards above.

Translation Notes

  • The source is a Russian community write-up and not an official English rulebook. Terms follow the Blue Moon City base rulebook in this catalogue: "crystal tokens" (the source says "осколки кристалла", crystal shards), "player marker", "obelisk", "Pillar people" and "golden scales".
  • The Golden Shrine flavour text in the source is cut off after "Terra ...". The rules text is complete as given in the source.
  • The source does not key the cost colours on the tiles to peoples, so the cost colours are recorded as printed and not mapped to peoples.
  • BGG's item description lists the Theatre as having "no special power". The source and the printed tile both show the two-card ability, so this rulebook follows the tile.
  • The tile's reward icons (the top-left and bottom reward symbols on the photographs) are not described in the source and are not transcribed here.
