Game Overview

The goal of the game is to collect 7 points. A player wins the game if they finish the round with 7 points.

Each star and planet is worth 1 point. Players will compete over planets by playing tricks and using the special powers of the factions. The planets will move between the players during the game. Players can collect stars when they win a round and keep them permanently in front of them.

Setup

  1. Place the 5 planet cards in a row between the players.
  2. Place the 4 faction reference cards face-up where both players can see them.
  3. Shuffle the rest of the faction cards and place them in a face-down deck in the middle of the table.
  4. Place the star cards in a face-up stack next to the faction cards.
  5. Choose a start player. The start player will lead the first trick.

Gameplay

The game is played in series of rounds. Each round is played in series of tricks. The round ends when a player has played the last card from their hand.

Playing a Round

  1. Shuffle
  2. Deal
  3. Exchange
  4. Playing tricks
  5. End of a round

1. Shuffle

Shuffle the faction cards. If this is not the first round, first collect the cards played in the previous round.

2. Deal

Deal each player a hand of 15 cards.

3. Exchange

Each player counts the number of planets and stars they have in front of them. Every planet and star is worth 1 point. If there is a difference of points between the players, then the players will exchange cards equal to the difference. The player with the most points will pass their highest valued cards to the other player. The player with the lowest points will pass cards of their choice to the other player.

Example: Player 1 has 3 planets and 2 stars (5 points) and player 2 has 2 planets and 1 star (3 points). The players must exchange 2 cards.

4. Playing Tricks

Each trick will start with the lead player. The lead player is the player who won the last trick. If this is the first trick of the round, then it's the player who lost the last round. Each trick is played by following these steps:

Select Planet

Each of the 5 planets has a different requirement:

  1. Zamepra: 1 card. Following cards may be of any faction.
  2. Peolara: 2 cards of the same value. Following cards may be of any faction. (Printed as "te same value" in the source; read as "the same value".)
  3. Usiri: 3 cards of the same value. Following cards may be of any faction.
  4. Vao D: 3 cards in a row of one faction.
  5. Thora III: 3 cards in a row of 3 different factions.

Play Cards

The lead player plays a card or multiple cards from their hand as determined by the requirements of the selected planet. The other player then can play or pass.

If the player plays, then they must play a card or multiple cards from their own hand of a higher value. The player must also follow the requirements of the selected planet. A combination of cards is a higher value if the total amount of the cards played is higher than the combination previously played. After the card(s) are played, the turn goes back to the lead player. This will continue to go back and forth with the player playing into the trick until a player passes.

A player may pass if they cannot play a higher combination, if they can't fulfill the requirements of the planet or if they choose not to. A player may choose not to because they wish to save their cards for a better opportunity. Once a player passes, the trick is finished and the other player wins the trick.

Move Planet

The player who won the trick moves the planet one step closer to them. If the planet is in the middle, then the planet is placed in front of them. If the planet is in front of the other player, then it moves to the middle. If the planet is already in front of the player, then it does not move.

Example: A trick is played with the planet Zamepra (1 card) and won by player B. The planet card will move from player A to the middle.

After a trick is complete, the player who won the trick becomes the lead player. The lead player chooses a new planet and starts a new trick. They may choose the same planet or a different planet. Players may choose a planet that they already have on their side.

5. End of a Round

As soon as the player plays their last card from their hand, the round ends immediately. The trick will not be resolved and the planet will not move. The player who played their entire hand gains a star card. Place the card alongside other planet cards. A star card is worth 1 point.

Each player counts up their score. Each planet in a player's possession is worth one point. Planet cards in the middle do not count towards scoring. A player wins when they have 7 points. If neither player has 7 points, the players play another round. The star and planet cards stay at the same spot when starting a new round.

Note: If a player draws the last star card, the end of the game is triggered as well.

Note: A player can only win the game if they have 7 points at the end of the round and not during a round.

End of the Game

If a player has 7 points or more, then the player wins the game!

If the last star card was drawn, the player with the most points wins the game. If there is a tie, the player with the most stars wins the game.

Faction's Powers

Each faction has a special power. These powers will change how cards of a faction are played. Every faction has an optional or a mandatory ability:

  • Shrinkin: optional. When playing a Shrinkin card, it may be used as a value of one less.
  • Trashers: mandatory. When a Trasher is used in a winning trick, the winner must discard a card from their hand afterwards. Note: A player can discard one card per trick.
  • Morphi: optional. When played, the Morphi may take the form of any other faction. They do not copy special abilities.
  • Greedbots: mandatory. When played in a winning trick, the planet moves all the way to the winner.
