How does the solo AI handle research, and does Technocratic Party Election let the pawn stay?

The AI follows the same prerequisite rules as a player and skips a research line if none of its four attempts is legal. After Technocratic Party Election your action pawn must still move; it cannot stay. A system colonized by Dimension Opener scores even if that triggers the game end, because it is colonized before the doom disc is placed.
