How do I choose the type of a new technology that has two possible prerequisite colors?

Pick one of the colors from prerequisites you have actually researched (a population cube on them), ignore the other, then reveal cards of that level until two show that color on their left side and choose one. Requiring both colors on one card is stricter than the rule, and you can't choose a type you have no cube on.
