Setup

Place both discovery tiles face up at the edge of the table. They are available to all players, but placing them requires meeting certain conditions.

Gameplay

At any point during the game, if an empty space forms on the board whose edges all border only land or only sea, you may immediately place a land discovery tile or a sea discovery tile there, respectively. This does not count as the normal "Place a tile" action.

Example: You may place a land discovery tile on the free space, because it borders land on all sides.

Example: You may place a sea discovery tile on the free space, because it borders water on all sides.

Scoring

At the end of the game, each discovery tile is worth 3 points.
