  • 54 Suspect Cards

(The game contains a replacement sticker sheet!)

Game Idea

By rolling the Deduction Dice the suspects' characteristics are defined. Players must play a Suspect Card with matching characteristics on the discard pile as fast as possible. Winner of the game is whoever manages to "get rid" of all his Suspect Cards first.

Deduction Dice

Each die shows one category of characteristics:

  • Colour of clothes: green, blue, orange.
  • Type of person: three different person silhouettes.
  • Number of persons: 1, 2, 3.

Before the first game you have to put the stickers on the dice - for each die one category of characteristics. Each characteristic must be twice on a die. Example: "Colour" means 2 x blue, 2 x orange and 2 x green.

Game Setup

  • The Suspect Cards are shuffled and equally distributed to all players. Left-over cards are put on the discard pile in the middle of the table. Each player puts all his cards face down in front of him as his personal pile and draws the topmost 10 Suspect Cards.
  • The 3 Deduction Dice are handed to the first active player (choose randomly).
    • The Deduction Dice show different characteristics of the suspects.
    • These characteristics are also shown on the cards.

Flow of the Game

  • Players take turns clockwise.
  • The active player rolls the 3 Deduction Dice one by one in any order. After each roll all players check their own Suspect Cards and play one matching card as fast as possible on the discard pile. Only the fastest player is allowed to leave his Suspect Card on the discard pile.
  • After a player places one of his Suspect Cards on the discard pile he draws one new card from his personal pile (as long as there are cards).
  • The first roll defines the first characteristic (which still applies to many suspects). The second roll further limits the options, because both rolled characteristics have to apply. After the third roll there are (at the start of the game) only two Suspect Cards, which apply to the parameters.
  • Especially near the end of the game it is possible that no player has a matching Suspect Card. In that case the remaining rolls are executed like described above, but all previously rolled dice do not apply and are therefore ignored.
    • Example: Maria's first roll is "Blue", nobody has a Suspect Card with a blue person on it, therefore "Blue" won't apply for the second and third roll.
  • The different backgrounds on the cards have no relevance.
  • If a player plays a Suspect Card on the discard pile that is not matching the rolled characteristics, he has to take the card and, additionally, the topmost card from the discard pile back to his hand.
  • After all three Deduction Dice are rolled, the next player clockwise becomes the active player. He takes the 3 Deduction Dice and the search for a matching suspect starts again.

Hint

The active player has to choose wisely which die he wants to roll first. It is risky to start with the colour die, if you only hold cards of one colour.

End of the Game

The first player who manages to play all his cards on the discard pile wins.
