Overview
Each round you reveal cards from your deck. If you reveal bunnies or carrots, that is great. Even a single nasty fox need not throw you into a panic. But if you reveal a second nasty fox, your turn is over immediately!
Setup
- You all begin the game with an identical starting deck of 2x Carrot, 2x Hungry Bunny and 2x Nasty Fox.
- With the remaining cards, form a separate pile for each type of card. These are your shared supply. Of the Stealing Bunnies and Nasty Foxes, only as many are used as there are players. Return the rest of them to the box.
- Whoever can hop the highest begins.
(Example illustrated in the rulebook: supply for 3 players, with 3 Stealing Bunnies and 3 Nasty Foxes.)
Gameplay
You play one after another, clockwise. When it is your turn, carry out the following steps in order:
- Shuffle your deck and place it face down in front of you without looking at the cards.
- Reveal one card after another and lay them in a row in front of you. After each card, decide whether you stop or keep revealing. If you lay down a second nasty fox, your turn ends immediately (see The Nasty Foxes!). You had better stop before that happens!
- If you have decided to stop and there are not two nasty foxes face up in front of you, you may buy more cards for your deck from the supply. Add up the carrot values in the upper corner of all your revealed cards. You may now shop with that total. You can buy as many cards as you can pay for. The cost of a card is printed in the lower corner of the card. Bought cards are placed on top of your deck. Leftover carrot values are lost.
You may never look through your deck.
The Nasty Foxes!
Foxes cannot be bought. You receive them through play.
If you reveal a nasty fox during your turn, nothing happens yet. But if you reveal a second nasty fox, your turn ends immediately. You may not buy anything this turn, may not use any further card effects, and you receive a sleeping fox.
You do not put sleeping foxes into your deck. You lay them face up in front of you. If you have two sleeping foxes, you put both back into the supply and give a nasty fox from the shared supply to another player.
If there are no nasty foxes left in the supply, you must collect three sleeping foxes (instead of just two) in order to give them away. When you put these back, you give your most recently revealed nasty fox to another player.
End of the Game
If you manage to reveal 10 or more bunnies in your turn, the game ends. You finish the current round, so that everyone has had the same number of turns.
Whoever has then revealed the most bunnies in this round wins. In the event of a tie, all those tied win together.
Bunny Overview
Besides the two kinds of foxes, there are 7 other cards in the game:
Carrot
A carrot has a carrot value of 1. You can buy a carrot for 2 carrots.
Hungry Bunny
A hungry bunny counts as 1 bunny. It has a carrot value of 1. You can buy it for 3 carrots.
Bunny Scout and Bunny with Gun
The Bunny Scout and the Bunny with Gun help you while you reveal cards.
Bunny Scout
A Bunny Scout counts as 1 bunny. It has a carrot value of 0. You can buy it for 6 carrots.
If you have revealed one or more Bunny Scouts, you always look at the top card of your deck before you reveal it. Then you decide whether to place the card in your display, or to put it back on your deck and stop revealing cards.
Bunny with Gun
A Bunny with Gun counts as 1 bunny. It has a carrot value of 0. You can buy it for 7 carrots.
If you have revealed one or more Bunnies with Gun, you place a nasty fox revealed afterwards under a Bunny with Gun. That nasty fox does not count this round. Only one nasty fox may lie under each Bunny with Gun. Further nasty foxes revealed count again.
Stealing Bunny and Bunnies in Love
Each revealed Stealing Bunny and Bunnies in Love card gives you an action that you can use at the end of your turn, before buying, if you do not have two nasty foxes lying in front of you.
Stealing Bunny
A Stealing Bunny counts as 1 bunny. It has a carrot value of 0. You can buy it for 4 carrots.
For each revealed Stealing Bunny you may steal a random card from someone else and put it on top of your deck. You may look at the stolen card; the person it was stolen from may not.
Example: You end your turn and have revealed two Stealing Bunnies. So you may decide twice from whom you steal. This can also be the same person.
Bunnies in Love
A Bunnies in Love card counts as 2 bunnies. It has a carrot value of 0. You can buy it for 5 carrots.
For each revealed Bunnies in Love card, you take a Baby Bunny from the supply and put it on top of your deck. If there are no Baby Bunnies left in the shared supply, you cannot take any more.
Baby Bunny
A Baby Bunny counts as 1 bunny. You cannot buy it; you receive it when you have revealed Bunnies in Love during your turn.
