Bastet: Cats of Bubastis
You begin the game with 3 cat tokens with different faces: a token showing +1, a token showing +3, and a token showing a star.
After game setup, place all cat tokens on the game board. Each must be placed face down (with the cat symbol facing up) on a space with a Monument, and each of these spaces must be in a different region. If there are fewer than 3 regions with a Monument on the board, place as many tokens as possible face down on the board and keep the rest face down next to your player board.
When you take part in a Battle in whose region a cat token lies, reveal that token together with your Battle card and add the number shown to your strength. (The star counts as +0.) A cat token stays face down in a region until a Battle takes place there in which you take part, or until an opponent returns it to you.
Once per turn, an opponent may, before or after an action, reveal a cat token that is adjacent to one of their figures, and return it to you.
- If it is the +1 or +3 cat, keep it face up next to your player board.
- If it is the star cat, kill the adjacent figure through which the opponent was able to reveal the cat. Then take back all cat tokens and place them face down on the game board again, so that each lies on a space with a Monument in a different region. (If the opponent has several figures adjacent to the cat, the opponent decides which of them you kill.)
Gods can never be killed, as usual.
After each Conflict event, take back all cat tokens (including the face-down ones) and place them face down on the game board again, so that each lies on a space with a Monument in a different region.
If Bastet is forgotten, all cat tokens are removed from the game.
Hathor: Selfless Followers
After you have resolved any effect for which you had to sacrifice Followers, you may sacrifice 1 additional Follower to place 1 figure adjacent to one of your figures or one of your Monuments. Place the figure only after you have fully resolved the effect.
Special cases:
Sacrificing for the action Unlock Ankh Power:
- If the unlocked Ankh power gives you control of a Guardian, you may place that Guardian immediately with Hathor's god power.
Sacrificing for the Battle card Plague of Locusts:
- You place your figure only after the Plague of Locusts. It is therefore not killed by it, but it can be killed by a Plague of Locusts that immediately follows.
- You may place a figure that was just killed by the Plague of Locusts.
Sacrificing for the Battle card Build Monument:
- You may place the figure adjacent to the Monument you have just built.
- If you do not have to sacrifice Followers because of the Ankh power Inspiring, Hathor's god power is not triggered.
Note: If the placed figure has an effect that changes how it is placed (such as Apophis), you do not have to place it adjacent to one of your figures or one of your Monuments.
Giving Followers to other gods does not count as sacrificing.
Thoth: Wisdom of Ma'at
In each Battle in which you take part, after all players have chosen their cards but before they are revealed, you may choose an opponent and try to guess which card that opponent has played. To do so, you must first place 1 Follower from the general supply on the scale space of your player board.
After you have chosen an opponent and a card, all players reveal their cards as usual. If you do not want to guess, the Battle is resolved as usual.
Note: If a player accidentally reveals their card before you had the opportunity to guess, that player may not change their decision (and you may guess that card).
Before the next Battle step is resolved, check whether you guessed correctly:
- If you guessed wrong, the player whose card you guessed receives all Followers from the scale.
- If you guessed correctly, the Followers remain on the scale.
At the end of each Conflict event, before all other effects, take all Followers off the scale and set them aside. You gain 1 Devotion for each Follower so set aside. This effect is resolved before any other effect that takes place at the end of the Conflict event (for example merging, being forgotten, and so on).
Horus: The Eye of Horus
You begin the game with 2 eye tokens on your player board.
At the start of each Conflict event, you may choose up to 2 regions in which a Battle will take place and place 1 eye token on each of them.
At the start of a Battle in whose region an eye token lies, return that token to your player board and choose a Battle card (except Cycle of Ma'at). No player can play the chosen card in this Battle, not even you.
Note: You may place eye tokens in Battle regions in which you do not take part in the Battle.
If a player accidentally plays the chosen card, that player must take it back into hand and play the Battle card Cycle of Ma'at instead.
You choose the forbidden card only after all effects of the Ankh power Obelisk Attuned have been resolved, but before the Amun player decides whether to play 2 Battle cards in this Battle.
Seth: The Traitor
During Conflict events, opposing Warriors and Guardians that are adjacent to your god figure always count as your figures and not as the opponent's figures.
If all Warriors and Guardians that a player has in a region are adjacent to Seth, that player counts as though they were not in that region, since they have no figures there.
You receive all the advantages of the figures adjacent to Seth, including their strength and Guardian effects. For all effects that depend on adjacency or positioning (for example Temple Attuned, Flood, Drought, and so on), those figures also count as your figures. The actual owner of the figures loses these advantages.
If you win a Battle or a Plague of Locusts, opposing figures adjacent to Seth are not killed, since they still count as yours.
If you lose, however, these figures are killed, and all effects triggered by their death are applied to you. So through the Battle card Miracle you would gain additional Devotion for the opposing figures adjacent to Seth that are killed. In addition, you resolve the effects of opposing Cat-Mummies and Mummies that are adjacent to Seth and are killed.
If you play against Ra and a Radiant figure is adjacent to Seth, you receive the Devotion bonus if you have dominance in the region or win a Battle.
When Seth moves during a Conflict event:
- If you move Seth during a Conflict event with the Ankh power Obelisk Attuned, the figures adjacent to Seth may change, and with them control of those figures.
- With Obelisk Attuned you may move opposing figures that are adjacent to Seth. As soon as you have moved them away from Seth, they belong again to their proper owner. In this way a player can take part in a Battle in which they did not previously take part. If Seth also moves and is again adjacent to such a figure, it counts as your figure again.
- As soon as you move Seth with Obelisk Attuned so that he is adjacent to opposing figures, those figures immediately count as your figures instead of as those of their proper owner. In this way a player can leave a Battle in which they previously took part. It can even happen that the Battle no longer takes place, if you are the only player with figures in the region and therefore have dominance there.
- If several players in a Battle have Obelisk Attuned, they use this Ankh power in ascending order of Devotion, starting with the player with the least Devotion. It can only be used if that player still has their own figures in the region. So if, with Seth, you gain control of all of one player's figures in a region, that player can no longer use Obelisk Attuned there, even if they previously had figures in that region.
