Components
- 28 cards (7 each of 4 colors: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5)
- 4 Pass & Trump Summary cards
Separately, you will need a chip or a note and pen to record the score for each round.
Game Setup
- Each player receives one "Pass & Trump Summary" and holds it with the 5 points on the top side.
- Prepare cards according to the number of players.
- 3 players: All "1s" and "5s" are removed, for a total of 16 cards.
- 4 players: All cards are used.
Game Flow
The game ends when the number of rounds have been played for the number of players. The player with the highest total score at the end of the final round wins.
Each round consists of the following three steps in order: 1. Round Setup → 2. Card Play → 3. Scoring
1. Round Setup
- The dealer is chosen at random in the first round, and in the second and later rounds, the player to the left of the dealer in the previous round becomes the dealer.
- The dealer shuffles the cards face down and deals them equally to each player. The cards can only be seen by the player who was dealt them. Excess cards are placed face down on the table.
- 3 players: 5 cards each (1 excess)
- 4 players: 7 cards each
- Everyone chooses two cards from their hand and hands them to the player on their right, facing backwards. At the same time, they receive the card handed to them from their left and add it to their hand.
2. Card Play
Each player takes turns to play one card (or pass) and plays a few mini-games called tricks to determine the winner. The dealer takes turns at the beginning of each round.
① Tricks
The turn player performs either A or B below. After that, the other players also perform one of the following in clockwise order, and once all players have taken their turns, the winner is determined.
A. Play one card from your hand
Play one card from your hand in front of you. The color of the first card played in each trick is called the lead color of that trick. If other players have a lead color card in their hand, they have to play it. If they do not have a lead color card, they can play any card.
B. Pass
Each player can pass up to two times per round. Declare "pass" and turn the Pass & Trump Summary so that the "3 points" is facing up for the first pass, and turn it over for the second pass. You can pass even if you have a lead color card in your hand. A player who passes does not win that trick.
Example: If the lead color is Red 2, you can play Red 3, Red 4, or pass.
② Determining the winner
First, if a trump is played against the lead color, the player who played the trump is the winner. Trump is treated as cards stronger than the lead color. Trump is written in the "Pass & Trump Summary" and at the bottom left of the number on each card.
- If the lead color is red: Trump is blue card.
- If the lead color is green: Trump is red card.
- If the lead color is yellow: Trump is green card.
- If the lead color is blue: Trump is yellow card.
If there are multiple trumps, the player who played the trump with the highest value wins. If no trump have been played, the player who played the card with the highest value of the lead color wins. If there are multiple cards with the highest value, the player who played their card first wins. If everyone passes, the first player to pass wins.
Example 1: There is no trump (blue) against the lead color (red), so the lead color with the highest number wins.
Example 2: There is a trump (blue) against the lead color (red), so the trump card wins.
Example 3: The card with the highest value of the lead color wins. In the case of the same value, the first one to play wins.
Example 4: The first card played becomes the lead color, and if there is a card of the same color, you can either play it or pass.
The winner of the trick takes only the bee cards (4 and 5) from the cards played and places them face up in front of them. If a player has two cards of the same color and number in front of them, they are eliminated and their score becomes 0 points. During that round, the eliminated player places the cards in their hand face down to the side and skips the next turn. Cards 1 to 3 played during the trick are placed face down to the side.
The turn of the winner of the previous trick begins, and the next trick is played.
When any remaining player has run out of cards, or when all players except one have been eliminated, the round ends and scoring is done.
3. Scoring
Each player receives the following points. Use chips or notes to record the points earned. Afterwards, return the "Pass & Trump Summary" to the top with 5 points, and start again from "1. Round Setup" and play the next round.
Players who are eliminated
- They receive no points, and receive 0 points.
Players who were not eliminated
- You get 1 point for each bee card you get.
- The player with the most Bee cards among those who were not eliminated receives a most bonus, an additional point equal to the number of points in the current round. If there is more than one player with the most, all of them receive a bonus.
- Check the "Pass & Trump Summary" and get points based on the number of passes (the point at the top of the summary). If you don't pass at all, you get 5 points; if you pass once, you get 3 points; if you pass twice, you get 0 points.
- If there is only one player who was not eliminated, they get an additional 10 points (the most bonus is also valid).
(Example) If you have the most bees in the second round: 3 bee cards: 3 points; Pass & Summary: 3 points; Most bonus: 2 points (second round); Total: 8 points.
Game End
The game ends after the number of rounds is equal to the number of players. At the end of the game, the points for each round are added up and the player with the highest score wins. In the event of a tie, the victory is shared.
Optional Rule: Final Blow Bonus
When someone is eliminated, the player who played the card that caused the elimination (the second card of the same color and number) places those cards face down in pairs in front of them as a final blow bonus marker. At the end of the round, if no one has been eliminated, they get 3 points for each pair. If multiple cards that caused the elimination are played in the same trick, they are handled the same way regardless of the order.
