Goal
Visit the most beautiful and valuable squares (plazas) of each district. The player who best distributes their walkers (paseantes) among the districts of Barcelona wins.
Setup (for 4 players)
- Place the board.
- Shuffle the cards and remove 12 without looking at them.
- Deal 5 cards to each player.
- Form two piles with the remaining cards and place them face down next to the board.
- Each player receives a rules summary and 30 walkers.
- Choose a player at random, who places the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc in front of them.
Playing the Game
The game is played over 12 turns. Each turn is divided into 4 phases. The player with the Magic Fountain card always starts, and play proceeds clockwise.
- Each player takes a random card from the player on their left.
- Each player plays a card and places as many walkers in the corresponding district as the card's point value. They leave the played card in front of them, face down. If a player does not have enough walkers, they must discard a card of their choice. Walkers may not be placed in such a way that, once placed, any district has more than one player with the highest number of walkers in that district.
- Each player moves two walkers of different colours from any district to an adjacent district and lays them down. A walker may only be moved once per turn. Therefore, laid-down walkers cannot be moved again until the next turn. The 2 walkers cannot be moved in such a way that, in any district, more than one player has the highest number of walkers. In the last turn, the two walkers that are moved must be of the colour of the player making the move.
- While there are cards in either pile, each player draws a card from the pile of their choice.
At the end of the turn, the laid-down walkers are stood up again, and the player who has the Magic Fountain hands it to the player of their choice (it cannot be themselves).
End of the Game
After the last turn is played, the points are counted. The player who has the most walkers in a district earns the points of that district, which are indicated on the board. If at the end 2 or more players are tied, the player with walkers in the greater number of districts wins.
Rules for 3 and 5 Players
The game is played exactly the same way, but a different number of cards and walkers is dealt.
