Overview

Each non-Arena scenario now has one Stronger Enemy card you may use in place of one of its regular Enemy cards. Each stronger enemy has a slightly altered name and has some combination of improvements to make them more of a challenge, for example:

  • Earlier initiative color
  • "Elite" type
  • Higher health
  • Higher shield value
  • Higher Provoke value
  • Higher Provoke range
  • Stronger attacks

Some of the stronger enemies also drop better loot when they are defeated.

Note: The stronger enemy for the three scenarios numbered 16 is used in scenario 16B only.

When to Use Stronger Enemies

Stronger enemies are recommended if you are playing in Exploration Mode (to keep the difficulty level up) or if you simply want to add more difficulty.

How to Use Stronger Enemies

If you are considering using the stronger enemy in a scenario, place the Stronger Enemy card for that scenario face down next to the Story deck.

When you are told to reveal the Enemy card with the matching number, reveal both the regular Enemy card and the Stronger Enemy card and choose which card to use. Remove from play the card you did not choose.

In this way you may choose whether to use the stronger enemy on a scenario by scenario basis.

Transcriber note: the component count is 25 as printed on the sheet. BGG's description lists 28 cards; the sheet itself is the source used here.
