How to Play with the Expansion
With this expansion you can play as House Arryn and gain a new set of victory conditions in an additional scenario for 4 players with alternative setup.
House Cards
In the A Feast for Crows scenario, players take the House Stark, House Lannister and House Baratheon cards from the base game and add the House Arryn cards from this expansion. House Arryn cards are compatible only with the A Feast for Crows scenario.
Playing as House Arryn
During the "Receive House Property" setup step, House Arryn receives all of the House Tyrell components from the base game (green), except for the House Tyrell cards and the Highgarden garrison token. For the rest of the game, all House Tyrell components are considered House Arryn components.
The Eyrie is considered the capital territory of House Arryn. During setup, place a green power token there. The token cannot be removed during the game, and it works on the same principles as the sigils shown on other capital territories.
The Feast for Crows Scenario
This expansion includes 4 A Feast for Crows scenario setup cards, one for each House. When setting up for this scenario, follow the instructions on the setup cards rather than those on the player screens. The scenario is for exactly 4 players. Play follows the base game rules, except for the exceptions described below.
Westeros Deck I
When setting up for the A Feast for Crows scenario, replace all of the Westeros Deck I cards from the base game with the Westeros Deck I cards included in this expansion.
Neutral Lord Tokens
When setting up for the A Feast for Crows scenario, place the neutral lord tokens as the base game rules specify for a 3-player game. Exception: do not place a neutral lord token at Storm's End.
Garrison Tokens
The neutral lord tokens in King's Landing and The Eyrie count as garrison tokens belonging to House Lannister and House Arryn, respectively. Note that King's Landing is not a capital territory, despite the presence of a garrison token on it.
Objectives
The A Feast for Crows scenario introduces a new way to earn victory points. Players no longer use the Victory track to count the castles and strongholds under their control. Instead, each player advances on the Victory track by fulfilling the conditions described on their objective cards. The common goal of the game is to become the first and only player to reach the 7th space on the Victory track.
Before the game begins, place all victory tokens next to the game board, to the left of the Victory track.
During the "Receive House Property" setup step, each player takes the special objective card that corresponds to their House and places it face up in front of them. Special objective cards must always be visible to all players.
At the end of setup, shuffle the objective deck and deal 5 cards to each player. Each player keeps 3 objective cards of their choice in hand and shuffles the rest back into the deck. Objective cards in hand are visible only to their owner. Players may not show their objective cards to each other, nor discuss them with opponents.
Scoring and Supply
At the end of each action phase, perform the following additional steps.
- Supply check: In turn order, all players move their tokens on the Supply track, as if the Westeros card "Supply" from the base game had been played. Afterwards, they reduce any armies they cannot support.
- Scoring special objectives: In each round, during this step each player may score points for their special objective card if the conditions printed on it are met. In that case, the player advances their token one space forward on the Victory track.
- Scoring objectives: In turn order, each player may score points for one objective card of their choice from their hand, if the conditions printed on it are met. The player places the objective card face up in front of them and advances their token on the Victory track forward by as many spaces as the points shown on the placed objective card opposite their House's sigil. A card for which points have been scored remains in front of the player until the end of the game. Note that, unlike special objective cards, points for each objective card are scored only once per game.
- Drawing objective cards: Any player who has fewer than 3 objective cards in hand draws 1 new objective card from the deck into their hand.
Victory
After the "Drawing objective cards" step, if a single player is the only one occupying the 7th space on the Victory track, that player wins. If the tokens of several players are on the 7th space, the player who controls the most territories wins. If the tie still remains, the player who is higher on the Iron Throne track wins.
