  • 1 double-sided printed game board
  • 4 game figures with stands
  • 20 toys
  • 1 color die
  • 1 point die

Before the First Game

Carefully press all parts out of the punch-out sheets. It is best to let an adult help you. Place each game figure in a stand.

Now choose which of the two games you want to begin with.

1. Sandbox Collecting Game

Game Material

Game board "Sandbox", 20 colorful toys, 4 game figures, color die.

Setup

Assemble the game board with the sandbox side facing up. Each of the four pieces shows an animal head drawn in chalk. Choose which animal you want to play with and take its game figure. This way you always know in the game which one is yours, e.g. for collecting the dog field.

Tip: If it is easier for you, take your puzzle piece directly to yourself during the game.

Set out the color die and the 20 toys.

Goal of the Game

In each of the four sandbox parts, five large marbles in different colors are depicted. Which player is the first to cover them with toys of the matching colors for his animal?

Game Rules

The youngest player begins and rolls the die. If he rolls, for example, Blue, he may take a toy in blue. He places it on the blue marble of his puzzle piece. Then it is the turn of the next player in the row.

If you roll Blue, Red, Yellow, Green or Orange, take a toy in the rolled color. If you roll White, you may choose a toy in a color that you still need. If you roll a color you already have, choose a matching toy and give it to a fellow player who can still use it. He will surely be happy about it!

Note: If you are playing with two or three players and everyone already has the rolled color, you may place the toy on an animal field that is not in play.

If no toy of the rolled color is left, you unfortunately must pass. You may collect the same kind of toy, e.g. several buckets. What matters is that the color matches!

End of the Game

Whoever is the first to cover all of his marbles with toys of the same color wins the round!

2. Adventure Ladder Game

Game Material

Game board "Adventure Path", 4 game figures, color die, point die for the variant.

Setup

Assemble the game board with the adventure path side facing up. Choose which animal you want to play with and place its game figure below the arrow, next to it. The race to the colorful tower starts here. Set out the color die. You only need the point die for the variant.

Goal of the Game

Whoever first reaches the colorful tower with his game figure wins.

The Race Begins

The smallest player begins and rolls. On Blue, Red, Yellow, Green and Orange, he moves his animal to the next field of that color. Then it is the turn of the player to his left. If you roll White, you unfortunately have bad luck and must stay where you are.

Field Occupied?

Only one figure may ever stand on a field. If the field of the rolled color is occupied, place your figure on the next free field of that color.

Arrow Field at a Ladder

If you land on an arrow field in front of a ladder, you may climb it at once and thus shorten the path. If you stay on the field at the top of the ladder and another animal is already there, place your figure one field further.

Arrow Field at a Slide

If you land on an arrow field at a slide, you slide down a bit again. If someone is already standing there, place your figure one field behind it.

End of the Game

At the end of the adventure path stands the colorful tower. Here all colors count. The first player who rolls a color that no longer lies on his path may move to the tower and wins the game.

Variant with the Point Die

Here you do not use the color die and instead play with the point die. Move your figure forward by the rolled number of points, counting the fields. If an animal is already standing there, place your figure one field before it. If you roll the X, unfortunately you must stay where you are.

You do not need to reach the tower with an exact point number; surplus points are lost.

Otherwise the same rules apply as in the basic game. Have fun climbing and sliding!
