Components:

  • 4 Memo cards, which remind players which attacks are countered by which parades
  • 1 game board
  • 1 card holder (sabot)
  • 4 cars in different colours
  • Attack tokens and Botte tokens (pictured on the sheet)
  • 1 rules sheet

Object of the Game

Reach 1,000 kilometres by moving your car onto the last space of the route.

Setup

  • Deal one Memo card to each player. Set aside the remaining Memo cards.
  • Place the card holder on the board, at the place indicated.
  • Shuffle the cards and deal 6, face down, to each player, including yourself.
  • Place the remaining cards, face down, in the notched side of the card holder. This pile forms the draw pile.
  • Each player looks at their own cards without showing them to the others and keeps them in hand.
  • Each player chooses a car and places it on the first space of the board, on the illustration of the car of their colour.
  • Place the attack tokens and Botte tokens on the board. Players will take them as the game goes on, so that they can place them on the board when they play the corresponding cards.
  • The youngest player starts. Play proceeds clockwise.

Play

On your turn, draw a card.

Then play a card by showing it to all players and discarding it to the discard pile. Everything takes place on the board:

  • Showing a Distance card advances your car by the corresponding number of spaces.
  • Showing an Attack card delays another player: place the corresponding attack token in front of that player's car.
  • Showing a Parade card frees you from an attack and lets you remove the token placed in front of your own car. You are then allowed to play Distance cards to advance again.
  • Showing a Botte card lets you clip the corresponding Botte token onto or under your car. For the rest of the game, opponents can no longer attack you with that specific attack.

Then it is the next player's turn.

Distance Cards

Each Distance card represents a distance: 25, 50, 75, 100 or 200 km. The route is divided into spaces of 25 km. On the board, to help younger players, the distance markers accompanied by their animal are underlined with small red spaces that show how many spaces the player must advance their car.

Attack and Parade Cards

  • If you wish to slow down an opponent, you may play a Speed Limit card. This card can be combined with each of the 4 other attacks.
  • To stop an opponent, you may attack them. To do so, play an attack card (other than Speed Limit) and place the corresponding attack token in front of their car.
  • If an opponent plays an Attack card and places the attack token in front of your car, you must play the corresponding Parade card before you can play a Distance card again.
  • If there is an attack token in front of your car and you play the corresponding Botte card, the Botte immediately cancels the effect of the attack. You may then remove the attack token.
  • When you play a Botte card, you may play again immediately.
  • When you play a Botte card, do not forget to clip the corresponding Botte token onto your car.

Speed Limit (Limite de vitesse)

This attack prevents the opponent from playing Distance cards above 50 km, until they play the End of Speed Limit card.

Stop! (Feu rouge)

This attack prevents the opponent from playing new Distance cards, until they play a Go card.

Out of Gas (Panne d'essence)

This attack prevents the opponent from playing new Distance cards until they play a Gasoline card.

Flat Tire (Crevaison)

This attack prevents the opponent from playing new Distance cards until they play a Spare Tire card.

Accident (Accident)

This attack prevents the opponent from playing new Distance cards until they play a Repairs card.

Note: a player cannot be attacked simultaneously with 2 attacks, except that Speed Limit may be played in addition to another attack card.

Botte Cards

A Botte card is an immunity against the attacks associated with it, for the whole duration of the game.

Puncture-Proof (Increvable)

Once you have played this Botte, your opponents can no longer attack you with a Flat Tire card.

Extra Tank (Citerne d'essence)

Once you have played this Botte, your opponents can no longer attack you with an Out of Gas card.

Driving Ace (As du volant)

Once you have played this Botte, your opponents can no longer attack you with an Accident card.

Right of Way (Véhicule prioritaire)

Once you have played this Botte, your opponents can no longer attack you with either a Stop! card or a Speed Limit card.

The Coup-Fourré (Le coup-fourré)

The Coup-Fourré consists of exposing a Botte as soon as an opponent attacks you with the corresponding attack, even if it is not your turn to play.

Example: an opponent attacks you with a Flat Tire, and among your 6 cards you have the Puncture-Proof Botte. You immediately play it, announcing "Coup-Fourré!"

The Coup-Fourré gives you 3 advantages:

  1. Remove from the board the attack token placed in front of your car, and clip the Botte token directly onto your car.
  2. Take a card from the card holder to complete your hand, since you have suddenly exposed a card without having first drawn a card from the holder.
  3. Play again immediately, that is, take another card from the holder and play as if it were your turn.

After that, the player to your left plays. If players are seated between the player who attacked you and you, they therefore lose their turn.
