How much does an Enviro-Shield block when its outfit is damaged?

Damage still counts against it. The Enviro-Shield counts as rolling the die's maximum, then each damage marker on the outfit subtracts one, so a d6 maximum of 6 with one damage blocks 5 (and 8 minus 2 on a d8 gives 6).
