Where do bought cubes come from, and can I buy a single cube?

Bought cubes come off the Economy Board, while mined, found and salvaged cubes come from supply; removed cubes go back to supply. With only one free hold space you may buy a single cube for the full 1,000 credits, and no extra cube is added. To buy two, jettison a cube first to free a space.
