When and how does the faceup card row refresh?

Only at the end of your turn, after a card was acquired: cards slide to fill gaps (Townsfolk and Land to the right, Space and Water to the left, Inspiration down) and then new cards are revealed. Workers and Influence slide with their cards, and Influence an action places goes onto existing cards before the refresh, so it cannot land on a replacement.
