Can I flip a Trade token I gained before my turn to take a third action?

Yes. The restriction is only about timing — you cannot flip a token you gained this turn — not about where the token is stored. A token gained on a Galactic Event or another player's Joint Focus before your turn can give you a third action, and any held token can also be discarded to pay a cost or crisis penalty.
