Can I use a composition dice slot when I Brew, Consume or otherwise act on the flora or item card itself?
The designer answered this on BGG; one player's contrary reading is noted.

No — the designer says composition slots are for interacting with a creature of that composition, not for the card's own consume or brew action. One reply argued a card action on a matching-icon card qualifies, but the designer's statements point the other way.
