Discarded or unpaid 1- or 2-credit Specials return to the bottom of their deck. A 1- or 2-credit Special you pay for and play is kept by you; one with an instant effect goes beneath your player board afterward so it cannot come back into play. Discarded 3-credit Specials leave the game. Kept instant Specials still count for end-scoring cards that count paid Special cards.
