Do Level 3 trick end-game bonuses need the components, or is a Trick Marker enough?
The designer ruled the base game requires components; the marker option is an Academy rule.

In the base game you need the trick's components. The Academy rulebook accepts either the components or a Trick Marker on the trick, and the designer said this was not added to the base game because it rarely matters, but you may allow it. Once you meet the condition you do not need to have performed the trick. Another designer remembered playtesting with a 'prepared or preparable' reading, but a reply relaying the other designer said components are required.
