If the Captain leaves the ship, who becomes Captain, First Mate and Cabin Boy?
The rulebook says pawns behind a departing pawn move up and defines roles by position.

Everyone behind the departed pawn moves up one place, so the First Mate becomes Captain. The Cabin Boy only becomes First Mate if they were second in line. With four or more pawns the old Cabin Boy stays Cabin Boy, and with two left the second is both First Mate and Cabin Boy.
