How long does a Mah Jong wish last, and does it carry into the next hand?
The rulebook says the wish stays until fulfilled; ending with the hand is the players' consistent reading.

It stays in force across tricks until someone fulfils it, and cannot be cancelled just because nobody could fulfil it on a given trick. It ends when the hand ends: an unfulfilled wish does not carry into the next deal.
