Until when can I call small Tichu?
The rulebook says a call may be made until the first card is played; players agree on the edge cases.

Any time before you play your first card of the hand, including before or after the card pass, out of turn, and after other players have already played. Once you have played any card, even a Dog or a bomb, it is too late. A lead is not final until the card is on the table, but once you begin to play you cannot call.
