What are the limits on a Survey for comets?
The rulebook states this plainly.

The range must start and end on sectors that can contain a comet on your note sheet (Standard: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11; Expert adds 13 and 17). You may include sectors in between that cannot hold comets, and an endpoint that a peer-reviewed theory has since shown to hold something else is still a legal endpoint.
