In Part 5, can the ground path and an eagle flight path merge or connect?
The rulebook states this directly (flight paths advance independently).

No. Eagle flight paths are a separate system advanced by swords and eagles, and are not part of the ground path from the Dell. They can run over the same spaces, but a flight path does not connect to your ground path; a dwarf is saved by touching both.
