Is a ship's final position fixed before it barrel rolls, and can a roll end overlapping something?
The rulebook says overlapping ships skip the action step and bars barrel rolls that overlap.

The overlap check happens at the end of the normal maneuver, before any action, so a ship that overlapped something skips its action and can't barrel roll. A barrel roll itself may not end overlapping a ship or obstacle.
