Does Ambition change which die I must remove for 'remove a die' effects?

When a faction or home world tells you to remove a die, you need not remove a white home die: you may choose any of your starting dice or dice granted by other tiles. The rule exists to settle setup-order arguments, since base-game tiles never asked you to remove a die.
