How do scrolls work, and can you hold several?

Scrolls are components and sit face up; each time you use the Inscription item you claim any one face-up scroll. There is no limit on how many you keep, and a scroll kept when you pass and turn in Inscription stays with you. Using most scrolls is an action, but the Shield scroll's react is not.
