How does Coral Castle's mid-round victory check work?

Using it checks victory right away without ending your turn or the round. You win only if someone has 10+ points and is ahead; otherwise play simply continues. It can be used with fewer than 10 points, for example to trigger a React or as a tempo move, but not after you have passed. First player token points still count in the check.
