Can I discard a card of the current rule's color to the Canvas to get the Advanced draw?
The designer's newest word (2024) leaves same-color discards allowed, though his own rulings changed over the years.

In practice yes, as long as you are winning. The designer said in 2014-2015 that a same-color discard is allowed, said 'no' in 2023, then admitted the earlier ruling and kept the online versions allowing it for the card draw. The 2023 'no' is superseded. Check with your table if you play strictly by the printed English rules, which don't require a change.
