Does the Magic Beans restriction apply to the leading player?
The Deluxe round card text says 'including the leading player'; a publisher post agrees.

Yes. The leader must also lead the highest or lowest card of the led suit. The Deluxe rulebook says each player, including the leading player, is bound by this. Magic Beans is a Deluxe round card, not in the base game.
