What are the rules for placing a new Orb card?

A new Orb card must cover at least one square not covered by any other orb card, and it may not cover airlock card squares, meeples or tokens (non-airlock jump tubes and empty token spaces may be covered). Its edges are checked only where they lie on the current outer perimeter (including the border around an interior hole): it may not turn a wall or barrier on the perimeter into an opening, i.e. it must not make a spot easier to pass.
