What happens if the Step 3 card is drawn during the auction phase?
The publisher issued a final correction in 2009 that matches the current rulebook.

Treat it as the highest plant and put it at the end of the future market, then shuffle the draw stack right away (including the plants that were put under it). Finish the auction, still drawing replacements for bought plants. After the phase, remove the lowest plant in the current market and the Step 3 card without replacement; Step 3 starts at Phase 3, with a six-plant market. Older wording said not to draw replacements during the rest of that phase; the February 2009 official correction replaced it.
