What happens if nobody buys a plant in the auction phase?
The publisher confirmed that only the lowest plant is discarded; it matches the rulebook.

Remove the smallest plant (the discounted one) from the game at the end of Phase 2 and draw a replacement; the phase ends. If some players pass but another player does buy, nothing is removed just because one player declined.
