How do Petra's electrical currents work?

Uncovered currents act as energy terrain: an energy tile touching a current extends its energy area through every connected current, whether or not tiles visually break the line. At game end they count as energy terrain, including for terrain objectives, but not as filled squares for rows and columns, so those squares still need tiles. Some players read the printed text the other way; the designer's 2023 answer settles it.
